Features   Features The newest Tri-Ax Shifter from Steeda Autosports is designed expressly for the S197 Ford Mustang GT, with a style that is reminiscent of the venerable "Top Loader". Yet by incorporating 20 years of race-proven technology, and by utilizing modern materials and machining techniques, this cog-swapper is right on the cutting edge! Like the tens of thousands of Tri-Ax shifters that came before it, this Tri-Ax carries over many of the same great features like an extremely short throw, precise action, stop-bolts to prevent damage to the transmission and linkage under hard usage, our two-position handle height, and internal spring tension to assist you in never missing 3rd gear! This last feature is exclusive to the S197 Tri-Ax and not found in any other S197 shifter! The factory steel mounting rail is replaced with a substantial billet beam for more positive location; and upgraded bushings are supplied to further reduce deflection under hard shifting. Installation/Results June 13, 2008 Reviewer: Jeff G. from Cypress, TX United States   Once installed this is one smooth operator, however I did find it necessary to have it done. Having the car on a lift is the only way to go. It is necessary to drop the shaft to access the shifter mounts. I find it well worth the price ($180) of installation!!!
